As an MP and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom where I worked hand in hand with an Air Force K9 Unit, I FULLY Support K9 Veterans Day. I think this is the greatest thing that could happen. Good luck the the governor of Florida for getting this passed. Even if it doesn't, I will now celebrate K9 Veterans Day every March 13th. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband, Joe White. His dream of a National K9 Day is a commendable memory for all the K9s that have protected their handlers and helped to keep this country free and safe. I am a police K9 handler and the President of the Working K9 Association of Central Pennsylvania (WKACP), a group representing both Search and Rescue K9s and Police K9s. Thank you for continuing the efforts that your husband started. This March will be WKACP's 5th anniversary. We will make March 13 the day that we will celebrate our anniversary from now - in memory of all working dogs. Thanks to both you and your husband for your efforts.
